The Hotel Plays (2012)
In a unique, sold out, theatrical event, Defibrillator in association with Metro Bank took over three suites of the Five Star Grange Holborn Hotel in central London to perform three previously unseen Tennessee Williams plays. Over 90 minutes audiences were thrilled as they were immersed in the action, moving between the three rooms to watch the plays.

★★★★★
“London-based theatre company Defibrillator’s second production takes us thrillingly close to some pretty dark scenes – but there’s brightness in patches too.”
★★★★
“The most tremendous fun, cramming into a hotel room, sitting within inches of the actors, knowing that you could break at any moment the tremulous illusion that they are creating.”
★★★★
“Packed as neatly as a travel-bag and they’re directed and performed with considerable skill, but it’s the intelligent, detailed integration of the setting that makes ‘The Hotel Plays’ unmissable.”
Time Out Critics Choice
“This is an evening of subtle and elegant performances, there is no weak link. It is a master stroke to play these pieces in a hotel setting.”
“This evening of morbidly powerful vignettes is captivating theatre – incredibly intimate and excruciatingly voyeuristic.”
